Meet the Team

George holds a MSc in Business Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam with a specialization in Finance.

In 1998, after various positions in asset finance in Europe as well as Asia, George moved to private equity.

In 2000, he joined AlpInvest, a newly formed private equity firm as a Partner. He was involved in many buy-out transactions globally, also covering healthcare, pharma and life science. In addition, he served as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee from 2000-2012. In this capacity, he was also involved in the firm’s broader investment activities including venture capital.

In 2011, AlpInvest was acquired by The Carlyle Group and the AlpInvest management team, and George became a Managing Director globally responsible for business development and investor relations. He then also joined the firm’s Operating Committee.

George joined PeterBio as Chairman of the Board at inception of the company in April 2018. In July 2020, upon the arrival of Dirk, he became a non-executive Board Member.
